Fred John Massaglia

Fred Massaglia was a humble man and wanted his obituary to simply say, "Fred Died". His family thinks he deserves so much more. Fred John Massaglia was born on August 4, 1950 and died Tuesday, June 18, 2024. Fred was born in Coaldale, PA to Fred Adam and Elizabeth Nancy (Bender) Massaglia. He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Sue Dubree on January 26, 1968. She survives. Fred is survived by three sons; Fred John (Bobette) Massaglia Jr., Jason (Patti) Massaglia and Jeff (Joey) Massaglia. Also surviving is one daughter, Cindy (Pete) Cornwell. Fred was a proud grandpa of five grandchildren, Brennan Massaglia, Caitlin (Paul) Sims, Brock Massaglia, Vincent Massaglia and Addison Massaglia. Fred was employed at Caterpillar Tractor Company for 18 years. He then started Pekin Rootermatic drain cleaning service in 1978. He owned National Rental for 28 years, buying in April of 1996 with his son, Jason. Fred loved participating and giving back in his community. He was president several times of Pekin Elks, was a member of the Pekin City Council for a total of six years and was a board member of TAPS. Fred also coached little league baseball for his sons when they were young. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and active in the Tazewell Genealogical and Historical Society. A visitation will be from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory. Cremation will be accorded after the visitation. There will be a Celebration of Life for Fred from 5:00 PM 8:00 PM Saturday, June 29th at the Pekin Moose. He loved dogs. Memorial donations can be made to SAMS (Stray Animal Midway Shelter, 328 S.
