Frank M. Sanders, 80, of Pekin, IL passed away at 11:40 AM Sunday, October 13, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. Frank was born on January 29, 1944 in Foley, MO to Herbert A. and Lucy S. (Brimm) Sanders. He married Wanda L. Fox on April 10, 1965 in Glasford, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Daniel Sanders. Surviving are: his wife, Wanda of Pekin; two daughters, Diana (Mike) Norris of Pekin and Amanda (Robert) Moser of Marquette Heights, IL; nine grandchildren, Katie, Kody, Haley, Emma, Dani, Dillon, Taylor, Austin and Raechel; one sister, Mary Francis "Frannie" Lewis of St. Louis, MO. Frank was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years retiring in 1994. He then worked at Farm Service (FS) Hanna City for 15 years. He was a member of The Cross Baptist Church and American Legion Post #35 in Glasford where he was currently Vice Commander and served on the Honor Guard. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Glendale Memorial Gardens with Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and American Legion Post #35. Pastor Jay Arnold will officiate. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post #35 Honor Guard 510 W Main St, Glasford, IL 61533 or OSF Hospice. Special thanks to the Illinois Cancer Center in Pekin nurses and staff, the Pekin Hospital Infusion Center nurses, and OSF Healthcare Hospice nurses and staff, especially Darren, RN.
