Frank L. Handegan

 Frank L. Handegan, 86, of Pekin, IL passed away at 2:15 AM Thursday, October 2, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. 

 Frank was born on January 22, 1939 in Peoria, IL to Frankie and Caroline Rose (Michael) Handegan. He married Darlene LeMasters on September 21, 1956, having just celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Debra Larimore and one great grandson, Everett McInnis. 

 Surviving are: his wife, Darlene of Pekin; three children, Joy Lynn (Tom) Davis of Pekin, Robert Frank (Kala) Handegan of Pekin and Kelly Sue Galyean of Pekin; ten grandchildren, Michelle (Ryan) Knowles, Amber (Ryan) Heagy, Timothy Evans, Lynzie Kerkhove, Tyne (John Marc) Everly, Whitney (Grant) McInnis, Christopher Handegan, Tyler (Wendy Havens) Arrenholz, Garrett Handegan, Haley (Alex) Beagle and three bonus granddaughters, Maria, Cassie and Hannah; seventeen great grand-children, Ethan Evans, Matthew Weaver and Mya Handegan, Brayden Evans, Wyatt Grimshaw, Shamon Handegan, Jayden Fitzanko, Ayden Knowles, Hunter Kerkhove, Journey Roots, Tanner Kerkhove, Bailee Kerkhove, Oakley Arrenholz, Evan McInnis, Annmarie McInnis, Annalise McInnis, Dax Everly and a great grandson arriving in December 2025. He also had many bonus great grandchildren; and one sister, Judi Ann (Ken) Rassi of Morton, IL. 

 Frank was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a retired engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad having worked there from 1978 – 2001. He enjoyed trains, Canasta and bowling. He was avid Chicago Cubs fan. 

 Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 6, 2025 at Lakeside Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Navy.
