Frances P. O'Connell

Frances P. 'Herbie' O'Connell, 89, of Peoria, IL passed away at 12:55 PM Thursday, August 07, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Frances was born on December 20, 1924 in Green Valley, IL to J.E. 'Edward' and Irene (Meyers) Phillips. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, John D. Phillips, one step daughter, Patricia Loiacono and one grandson. Surviving is: one son, Kevin O'Connell of Phoenix, AZ; two step daughters, Eileen (Tom) Ackerman of North Palm Beach, FL and Margaret Wood of Murphysboro, TN; one step son-n-law, Nick Loiacono of Sodus, NY; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Frances was a 1947 graduate of the University of Illinois and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria. She enjoyed playing bridge and volunteering for various charities. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Green Valley Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
