Frances A. Koertge

Frances Aileen Koertge, 86, passed away at 5:16 PM Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Pekin Manor. Frances was born on December 8, 1929 in Grayville, IL to Rollie Elmer and Minnie Grace (Cooper) Jennings. She married James Albert Ibbotson on March 15, 1947 in Olney, IL. They later divorced and Frances was a single mother for ten years before marrying Charles A. Koertge on September 25, 1970 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on November 18, 1985 Also preceding her in death are her parents, one daughter, Diana, one daughter-in-law, Teresa Ibbotson and one brother. Surviving are: two daughters, Donna (Eddie) Walton of Canton, IL and Debra Ibbotson of Pekin; two sons, J. Stevan (Susan) Ibbotson of Murphy, NC and David Ibbotson of Pekin; six grandchildren, Kenneth and Timothy Walton of Canton, Jason, Nathan and Kelsea Ibbotson of Pekin and Keri Ibbotson of Bloomington, IL; three great grandchildren, Jenna and Wesley Walton and Carson Ibbotson; one great great grandchild, Emmett Haile; one sister, Wilma Yauch White of Pekin. Frances lived for her family and was very proud of their accomplishments. She moved her children to Pekin so they would have more opportunities than in their small southern Illinois home town. She enjoyed any time she could spend with her family. She loved Pekin and especially enjoyed the park and the Marigold Festival. She loved babies and could never pass by one without stopping to smile and talk to them. She was proud that she earned her GED nearly twenty years after leaving school to marry. She retired from Bergner's and from Community Care. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She enjoyed volunteering in the nursery and in the food ministry. She was loved and will be very much missed by her family. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Henderson Funeral Home 2131 Velde Dr. with Rev. Roger Lipe officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Wednesday, Dec. 30 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
