Frances Jean"Jeanie" Knaak

Frances Jean 'Jeanie' Knaak, 78 of Pekin passed away at 6:10 pm, Sunday October 26, 2014 near Pekin. Jeanie was born September 3, 1936 in Pekin to Martin and Lillian Schuetts Larkin.She married Wayne Knaak on July 8, 1956 in Pekin. She is survived by her husband, Wayne; daughter, Mary Jenkins of Pekin; son,David (Mary) Knaak of Peoria; four grandchildren, Alaina(Julian)Taylor, Patrick Knaak, Jessica(Jacob)Mills , and Grant Knaak; one great granddaughter, Lillian Taylor; sister, Barbara Larkin Smith of Pekin; sister in law, Jeanie Larkin of Pekin and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother John Larkin. Jeanie had worked at Economy Shoes and Larkin Bakery.She was the owner of Fran's Boarding Kennels near Pekin.She enjoyed reading, sewing, and baking cookies, especially baking thousands of cookies every Christmas for family and friends.Jeanie was a Den Mother and 4-H Leader for Pekin Saintly Dragons for several years.She was a member of the Pekin Boat Club Boating Belles. Jeanie was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Thursday, October 30 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin with Rev. Brian Byrne officiating.Visitation will be Wednesday October 29 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
