Frances A. Cash

Pekin - Frances Ann Cash, 102, of Pekin died Saturday, December 10, 2016, at 7:35 A.M.at Pekin Manor. Born Oct 10, 1914, in rural Brimfield, IL to Bernard J. and Mary (Loescher) Heinz, she married Robert L Cash Sr. on May 12, 1937.He died April 29, 2001, after 64 years of marriage.She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bernard D. and Vincent J. Heinz; and three sisters, Rosalyn M. Heinz, Loretta F. Michael, and Roberta C. Mason. Surviving are her children, Mary L. Irwin of Tampa, Florida and Robert (Shirley) L. Cash Jr. of Pekin; her brother, Clarence A. Heinz of Peoria, 8 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren. Frankie worked at American Distillery bottling plant, J.C. Penney in downtown Pekin, and for Russ Strauman's clothier of Pekin.A life-long St. Louis Cardinals fan, and an avid golfer following retirement, she enjoyed entertaining friends and family, gardening, and traveling to all States, especially Florida, spending 25 winters, last owning a second home in Palm Hill Country Club, Largo, Florida. She loved bus-trips with her husband and making many friends across the country.Her greatest sorrow was the separation from her daughter, Mary, in Florida these past few years due to both their losses of sight, hearing and dementia, which made visiting each other impossible.Their loving embraces will need to await them in heaven.Love you, Mom, love you, Mary. She was a devoted, life-long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Pekin, and a member of the Council of Catholic Women.She was a member and former president of the K of C Columbus Club woman's auxiliary, and enjoyed working at church events. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the loving compassion and care given to Frances by Harbor Light Hospice and Pekin Manor Nursing Home. Frances's Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 15, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, with Father Michael Andrejek as celebrant. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Wednesday, December 14 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin. The Rosary will be recited at 4:15 PM. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin.
