Floyd R. Blazevich, 74, of Pekin passed away at 8:35 pm Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at his home. Floyd was born February 10, 1935 in Centerville, IA to Andrew and Matilda (Gorman) Blazevich.He married Ethel Ann McCloud on October 31, 1954.She died on July 28, 2004 in Pekin. Also preceding in death were his parents and one sister, Rosalee Vandermark of Lewisburg, OH. Surviving are: six sons, Alan (Cheryl) Blazevich of Pekin, Archie (Lorna) Blazevich of Phoenix, AZ, Arthur James'Jimmie' (Bonnie) Blazevich of Albany, LA, Floyd R. 'Chipper' (Lisa) Blazevich II of Pekin, Daniel (Judy) Blazevich of Pekin and David Blazevich of Macomb; two brothers, Pete (Marty) Blazevich of Fresno, CA and Andy Blazevich of Junction City, CO;ten grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Floyd worked as a self-employed carpenter for 45 years, out of union locals #644 and #183. He was a member and Golden Eagle of Pekin Eagles Lodge #1869, a former member of the Pekin Moose Lodge #916 and past-president of the Pekin Archery Club.Floyd loved to play euchre and rummy. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and gardening.He worked in the coal mines as a young boy.
