Florence Rickert

Florence L. Rickert of Pekin, IL and formerly of Quincy, IL passed away at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin. Florence was born on October 23, 1924 in Quincy, IL to August A. and Emma (Barth) Reed. She married Edwin J. Smith on October 30, 1942. He preceded her in death. She later married Richard A. Rickert on June 7, 1952. He died on August 15, 1967. Also preceding in death are her parents, one son, Gary Rickert, one brother and one sister. Surviving are: one daughter, Judith A. Underwood of Pekin; two grandchildren, Darren (Chris) Underwood of Pekin and Deanne (Marshall) Smith of Eureka, IL; three great grandchildren, Bailey Underwood, Mackenzie and Mitchell Fuller. Florence worked at Moorman Manufacturing for 17 years retiring in 1985. She was a former member of the Ladies of the Moose Auxiliary in Quincy. She graduated from Quincy Senior High School and attended St. Peter's Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling, reading and gardening. She loved spending time with her family. Cremation has been accorded. Inurnment will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery in Quincy.
