Florence Lorraine Patten

Florence L. Patten, 91, of Pekin, IL passed away at 12:51 AM Friday, February 10, 2017 at UnityPoint Health Pekin. Florence was born on May 11, 1925 in Pekin to Jerry M. and Margaret (Blaum) Brumns. She married Russell L. Patten on June 30, 1949 in Pekin. He passed away on September 3, 2011. Also preceding in death are her parents, one son, David Patten, one son-in-law, Thomas McKinley, one brother, Burnett Brumns and one half sister, Katherine Cohenour. Surviving are: one son, Robert Patten of Pekin; two daughters, Vicki McKinley of Pekin and Peggy Patten of Peoria Heights, IL; three grandchildren, Lanette McKinley, Christopher McKinley and James McKinley-Portee; eight great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren. Florence was a registered nurse with OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria retiring in 1987. Florence was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she was active in United Methodist Women and the Priscilla Circle. She was also a member of Pekin Women's Club, Red Hats, American Legion Auxiliary, 8 & 40, Tazewell County Genealogical & Historical Society, Friends of the Library and Senior Saints of OSF St. Francis Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Joel Catlin officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Monday at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin and from 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM at the church on Tuesday.Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
