Evelyn C. Schoonover

Evelyn C. Schoonover, 90, formerly of Pekin passed away at 9:27 PM Friday, October 12, 2012 at Mason City Area Nursing Home. Evelyn was born near San Jose, Illinois on October 14, 1921 to Louis S. and Grace M. (Spencer) Wagner. She married Clarence 'Jack' Schoonover on September 14, 1951. He passed away on November 17, 1972. Also preceding in death are her parents, three brothers, Cleo, Roy and George Wagner, one infant sister, Loretta and special friend, Fernie Groth. Surviving is: several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews and severalgreat great nieces and nephews; one sister in law,and Viola Wagner of Mason City, IL Evelyn had worked at Standard Brands and Pekin Hospital. She had attended the South Pekin Congregational Church. She spent her life caring for others. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin with Rev. Nash Shawgo officiating.Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery in Green Valley.
