Eunice O. Schumm

Eunice O. Schumm, 90, of Pekin passed away at 10:45 am Monday, August 03, 2009 at Pekin Hospital. Eunice was born December 30, 1918 in Deer Creek Township, Tazewell County, Illinois to Guy and Bertha (Wyss) Mitchell. She married Frederick J. 'Fritz' Schumm on January 5, 1938 in Pekin. He preceded in death on February 3, 1993. Also preceding in death are one son, Richard and four brothers, Clarence, Ralph, Virgil and Dale Mitchell. Surviving are: one son, Gary (Sheila) Schumm of Pekin; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Schumm of Manito, IL; five grandchildren, Dana Wood of Creve Coeur, IL, Scott (Sherry) Schumm of Manito, IL, Jeffry (Kim) Schumm of Lafayette, IN, Jillian Schumm of Orlando, FL and Janine Schumm of Pekin, IL; six great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; one brother, Vernon Mitchell of Delavan, IL. Eunice was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin. She has served as Sunday School Birthday Secretary since 1963 and Financial Recorder since 1983. She was a loyal Cub fan. She loved to bake and cook.
