Ethel M. Gardner

Ethel M. Gardner, 82, of 2220 State St. formerly of 2600 Brooklawn passed away at 7:28 am Saturday, June 09, 2007 at Timber Creek Rehab & Health Center in Pekin. Ethel was born July 26, 1924 in Bartonville, IL to Richard and V. Mabel Sexton Gordon. She married Charles W. Gardner on December 12, 1943 in Tampa, FL. Surviving are: her husband of Pekin; one son, Stephen (and Patricia) Gardner of Pekin; eight grandchildren, Terri (and Michael) Pogioli of Pekin, Andrew Gardner of Springfield, IL, Douglas and Darin Bolen both of Pekin, Chris Bolen of Armington, IL and Chayne Bolen of San Jose, IL, Jason (and Amanda) Broughton of Pekin and Jon (and Hayley) Broughton of Phoenix, AZ; eighteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one brother Charles Gordon of Iowa; one sister, Edith (and Charles) Miller of Pekin. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jean Bolen and four brothers. Ethel was a bookkeeper and waitress at the Pekin Country Club during the 50's & 60's. She loved to crochet, do needle work and cooking.
