Esther E. Proehl

Esther E. Proehl, 94 of Pekin, passed away at 4:45 pm Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Pekin Manor. Esther was born February 7, 1920 in Pekin Township Tazewell County, IL to John and Margaret (Weyhrich) Fuelberth.She married Walter 'Pete' Proehl on May 12, 1945 in Green Valley.He died May 11, 1991.Also preceding her in death were her parents, three sisters, Mary Beutel, Martha Schumm, Dorothy Proehl, two brothers, Walter Fuelberth, Alfred Fuelberth, and one infant brother. Surviving are one daughter, Diane (Duane) Siltman of Pekin; two sons, Art (Wendy) Proehl of Pekin and Mike (Marilee) Proehl of Peoria; eight grandchildren, Bryan (Missy) Siltman of Cottage Grove, WI, Aaron (Shanna) Siltman of Pekin, Cory (Melissa) Proehl of Toepka, KS, Mandy (Don) Bruce of Bartonville, Missy Helm of Highland, Matt (Kelly)Proehl of Groveland, Derek (Ilona) Proehl of Niles, and Travis Proehl of Brentwood CA; thirteen great grandchildren, Riley, Alivia,Maya and Kaden Siltman, Autumn and Natalie Bruce, Brianna, Megan and Robbie Helm, Ava, Taylor, Lucas and Caleb Proehl. She was a faithful member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, its Sunday school class, the Senior Fellowship Group and the church quilters.She enjoyed gardening, quilting, baking and visiting with family and friends. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 22, 2014 at St. Paul United Church of Christ. Visitation will be Friday, February 21 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin.Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ 101 N. 8th St., Pekin, IL 61554. The family would like to thank the staff of Pekin Manor for the excellent care Esther received during her residence there.
