Enid S. Woolsey

Enid S. Woolsey, 98, of Peoria, passed away at 7:15 PM Saturday, April 7, 2019 at her home surrounded by loving family. She was born October 31, 1920 to Peter A. and Bryd (Johnson) Sunwall in Galesburg, IL. She married Louis W. Henninger on March 14, 1942 in Bloomington, IL. He passed away on March 28, 1962. She later married Robert B. Woolsey on March 2, 1973 in Bloomington, IL. He passed away May 1, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Shirley Sunwall Comiskey and Suzette Sunwall Tapper, and one step son R Bennett Woolsey Surviving are; her daughter, Jane (Jeff) Pollitt of Peoria; stepson Baird of Peoria;stepdaughter Betty (Dan) Barding of Tremont; step daughter-in-law Betty (David) Schlacter of Peoria IL; Granddaughter, Laura Pollitt of Peoria; step-grandsons Eric (Teresa) Pollitt,Shaun Pollitt (Megan) , Nick Pollitt, , Bob (Mia) Woolsey and Nate Woolsey; step-granddaughters, Sarah (Mike Rubin) Woolsey, Alex Lamprect, Valla (David) Hood and Geneva (Brett) Aberle; and step-greatgrandchildren, Dakoda, Kolton, Georgia, Geneva, Gabriel and Eden Pollitt, Bennett, Charlie and Edie Woolsey, Hadley and Mylah Aberle, Sailor, Harbor and Atlas Hood and Jada Lamprecht. Enid attended First United Methodist Church in Peoria. She was a teacher for Bloomington schools, retiring in 1975. She began her teaching in a one room school house, Miller School in 1940. She also taught at Mahomet, IL and Metcalf School. She also worked as an underwriter at State Farm Insurance Co. She was a member of Pekin Hospital League, P.E.O. Chapter L M, and was a board member of the Dirksen Center. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin. Visitation will be two hours prior from 9:00 - 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 116 NE Perry Ave, Peoria, IL 61603.
