Emmajean Janiszewski

With heavy hearts we share that Emmajean Janiszewski, 71, of Chicago, IL passed away at 2:25 PM Sunday, September 27, 2026 at Hallmark Healthcare of Pekin.

Emmajean was born on October 3, 1954 in Chicago, IL to John and Dorothy (Flanigan) Renner.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother in law John Mrozek.

Surviving are: one son, John (Ammy) Janiszewski of Mokena,IL; two daughters, Melissa Hately of Tremont, IL and Elizabeth (Rich) Glenke of Chicago, IL; ten grandchildren, Karina, Nathan, Goby, Miguel, Natalia, Richie, Addison, Dillon, Harper and Ryder; three sisters, Marilyn Renner of Indiana, Marjorie (Chuck) Palermo of Homer Glen, IL and Terri Mrozek of Lemont, IL; son in law Nathan Hately; and best friend Joyce Zywica.

Emmajean was of the Catholic faith and had a deep love for her family and friends. She loved watching Hallmark movies, prepping for Christmas all year long and enjoying the Christmas season when it came around. She loved bonfires, family game nights, and watching her children and grandchildren grow and thrive. She always met any obstacle in life with dignity, strength, and perseverance. She was one of the strongest women any of us knew, a true warrior. She was an inspiration to all and will be deeply missed by every person she encountered in life.

Services will include a mass to be held at 10am on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at Our Mother of Good Counsel in Homer Glen, IL. 16043 S. Bell Rd 60491. Followed by a Celebration of Life at Papa Joe’s in Orland Park, IL at 12pm. 14459 LaGrange Rd 60462. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with Emmajean’s arrangements.
