Emily L. Wieburg

Emily L. Wieburg, 94, of Pekin, IL passed away at 9:30 PM Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Unity Point Health - Pekin. Emily was born on June 8, 1924 in Pekin, IL to Thaddeus W. and Lillian (Waechter) Mott. She married Russell Wieburg on November 11, 1940 in Pekin. He passed away on December 29, 1987. Also preceding in death are her parents and three sisters. Surviving are: one son, Ernest (Brenda) Wieburg of Pekin; one daughter, Emmy Lou (William) Drzal of Geneva, IL; four grandchildren, Christopher (Carrie) Wieburg, Jeremy Wieburg, Tracey (Peter) Miller and Elizabeth Griffiths; one brother, Ernest Mott of Omaha, NE. Emily was office secretary for St. Paul United Church of Christ for 35 years retiring in 1988. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Church of Christ where she was very active, including Past Church President, one of the founding board members of St. Paul Wonderland and Senior Fellowship. Emily was also a member of J.O.Y. Circle and Church Women United.She was a member of Fondulac Golf League, YWCA, Friends of Library, Red Hats and Class of 1942 Reunion Chairperson. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Monday, November 12, 2018 at St. Paul United Church of Christ with Rev. Dr. Brian Byrne officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Sunday, Nov 11th at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory and at the church on Monday from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
