Emil B. Monge

Emil B. Monge Jr., 77, of Pekin passed away at 2:41 PM Friday, May 31, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Emil was born on June 17, 1935 in Pekin, IL to Emile B. and Josephine (Rak) Monge. He married Sarah Balcke on August 3, 1957 in Pekin. He was preceding in death by his father and one son, Dan Monge. Surviving are: his mother, Josephine of Pekin; his wife, Sarah of Pekin; three sons, David (Linda) Monge of Mokena, IL, Matt Monge of Monterrey, Mexico and Chris (Becci) Monge of Melbourne, Australia; one daughter in law, Debbie Monge of Pickerington, OH; eight grandchildren, Michael, David, Robert, Annabella, Emilia, Ryan, Blake and Matthew Monge; one sister, Darlene Halstead of Pekin. Emil was a graduate of Bradley University. He retired as owner of API Services Inc. and was a home builder in Pekin for over 25 years. He was member of the American Association of Home Inspectors and volunteered at WCBU Radio. He was a member of the 1951 Pekin High School football and baseball State Championship teams. Emil maintained a passion for sports and was an fan of Ice Hockey, Golf and Football. He loved the outdoors and traveling.Most importantly, Emil loved his family. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Monday, June 3, 2013 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin, IL. Private burial of his cremated remains will be in Lakeside Cemetery at a later date. Cremation has been accorded. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate 4722 N.
