Ellen Elizabeth Sunderland

Ellen Elizabeth Sunderland, 95 of Pekin passed away at 9:58 pm, Friday, October 25, 2024 at Carle Pekin Hospital. She was born to John Howard and Barbara Ellen Elizabeth (Cook) Aldridge in Mackinaw, IL on February 2, 1929. She married LeRoy Sunderland on May 9, 1948 in Pekin. He preceded her in death on January 13, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Laura Look and one nephew Paul Sunderland. Ellen is survived by one son, Thomas Sunderland of Pekin, and one daughter, Tina Sunderland of Montgomery, IL; and four nephews, Roger (Kim) Look, Allan (Becky) Look, Dale (Lelanny) Look, and Walter (Judy) Sunderland. She was an 80-year lifetime member of First Christian Church in Pekin. Ellen loved her family with all her heart. She worked for District 108 in the Kitchen, Pekin Insurance and for the City of Pekin as a Bus Monitor over the years. She was a treasured mother and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Ellens Funeral Service will be Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Mark Foglio officiating. There will be a visitation immediately prior to the service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Memorials may be made Shriners Childrens Hospital or the First Christian Church.
