Ellen Louise Schneider

Ellen "Louise" Schneider, 78, of Pekin, IL passed away at 12:25 PM Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Snyder Village in Metamora, IL. Louise was born on March 1, 1946 in Pekin to Doris L. (Martin) Caulkins. She grew up in Maricopa County, AZ She was preceded in death by her mother. Surviving are: four children, Cynthia L. (Bryan) Bussell of Pekin, Eric J. (Melanie) Schneider of Mapleton, IL, Diane M. (David) Anderson of Bloomington, IL and Amanda D. (Ryan) Little of Germantown Hills, IL; seven grandchildren, David (Cayla), Ryan (Katy), Brett, Blake, Anna, Adriel and Renon; one great grandson, Forrest and is expecting her second great grandchild; one brother, Lloyd H. (Sandy) Caulkins of Forest City, IL; life- long friend, Norv Schneider of Peoria Heights, IL and soul sister, Linda Garrett. Louise was an underwriting assistant at Argonaut Great Central Insurance for 30 years retiring in 2010. She owned and operated the Honey Cup Caf in Forest City for a few years. She was baptized at Praise Assembly of God in Peoria and attended Summit Point Church. She enjoyed playing pinocle in a group of long - time girl friends for over 40 years. She also enjoyed bowling and participated in several leagues. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She loved to spoil them and tell stories at family gatherings and commanded everyones attention. She was a wonderful thoughtful and sweet woman that always put others first and her smile lit up the room and brought a smile to everyone. She was very active in high school and was on the pom pom squad. She loved her red 57 Chevy Bel Air that she bought with her tip money she got working at family restaurants. She loved her red cars, sunglasses and license plate WEEZY 46. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM 11:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made to Illinois Cancer Care Foundation, Central Illinois Chapter of Alzheimers Association or Center for Prevention of Abuse. The family would like to thank the staff at Snyder Village and Transitions Hospice for the care they provided Louise.
