Ellen R. Morrison

Ellen R. Morrison, 79, of Pekin, IL passed away at 7:19 AM Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Pekin Manor surrounded by her family. Ellen was born on June 16, 1944 in Pekin to Virgil B. and Lela L. (Hilst) Lawson. She married Robert D. Morrison on September 8, 1963 in Pekin. He passed away on February 8, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sharon "Jeannie" Price and Patsy Bowers; one infant sister, Ellen Marie Lawson; two sister-in-laws, Carol L. Lawson and Carol J. Lawson. Surviving are: two sons; Jeffrey (Polly) Morrison of Edgewater, FL and Mark (Monica) Morrison of Madison, WI; five grandchildren, Stephanie Kauffman, Sydney, Sophie, Sari, and Spencer Morrison; one sister, Janet Lawson of Pekin; two brothers, Dewayne Lawson and William Lawson, both of Pekin. Ellen was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. She was past president and past treasure of Douglas School Mothers Club. She was also past secretary and past treasure of Pekin Area Junior Bowling Association. Ellen was a homemaker who cared for the Henderson children; Christine, Julie, Ryan, Lauren and Mallory. Funeral Services will be at 3:00 PM Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Daniel Bishop officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior from 2:00 3:00 PM also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Johns Lutheran Church.
