Eldon Russ Allen

Eldon 'Russ' Allen 83, of 1600 Deppert Dr., Pekin, formerly of Washington passed away at 3:30 pm Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. Russ was born to Jesse L. and Mabel Polhemus Allen June 11, 1924 in Fairview, IL.He married Anita Slayton Hoffman on June 11, 1961 in Creve Coeur, IL.She survives. Also surviving are two sons; R. Daniel (Pattie C.) Allen of Pekin and Barry (Kathy) Allen of Corona, CA; nine grandchildren; Allie (Smith) Dietrich, Caleb Smith, Hannah Smith, Mikael Jarrin, Peyton Allen, Cannon Allen, Karen Pascual, William Allen and Bobbi Evans; six great grandchildren; Adriel Dietrich, Ashley Pascual, Dakota Pascual, Daniel Allen, Justin Gardner and Nicole Gardner. Preceding him in death were two sisters, Doris Armstrong and Frances Bowman. Russ was an avid golfer.He enjoyed playing golf at Hillcrest Golf Course.He was a member of Legion Post 100 in Washington and Kennel Lake Sportsman in Morton.He was a WWII Army Veteran achieving the rank of Seargent.
