Edward E. Barnard, 84, of 1412 N. 12th Street Pekin passed away at 9:30 pm Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at Pekin Hospital. Ed was born January 7, 1923 in Mackinaw, IL to Emery R. and Minnie Dilkey Barnard. He married Bernice Huette on March 25, 1944 in Tremont, IL. Surviving are; his wife of Pekin; two sons, Terry (and Rose) Barnard of Pekin and James (and Ruth) Barnard of Silverdale, WA; five grandchildren, Rose Goyen, Theresa Clark, Carl Barnard, Jeremy Barnard and Christopher Simpson; seven great grandchildren, Nastassia Barnard, Scott and Danille Goyen, Tony and Chase Langloss, Jacob and Natalie Simpson; one great great granddaughter, Kaitlin Spencer; one sister, Dorothy M. Vick of Lafayette, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald W. Barnard. Ed was employed as a laborer for Corn Products Company for 35 years retiring in 1982. He was a member of the First Christian Church and played on the church Dartball team for many years. He was a member of Pekin Moose Lodge #916 and the Pioneer Club of CPC. Ed was an avid bowler and fisherman. He loved working with wood and helping people in need.
