Edith S. Smith

Edith S. Smith, 92, of Marquette Heights passed away at 7:25 AM Thursday, September 10, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Edith was born on November 2, 1927 to Alfred and Clella (Cook) Hall in Crospey, Illinois. She married Woodrow Smith. He passed away in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one infant son, Junior; five brothers and three sisters. Surviving are : three sons, Mike (Mary) Smith of Marquette Heights, Terry (Shirley) Smith of Scottsdale, AZ; Douglas (Rainy) Smith of Phoenix, AZ; two daughters, Serita Smith of Marquette Heights and Linda Denton of Sapula, OK; one sister, Shirley Foster; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Edith was a member of POW MIA Association. She enjoyed online shopping at QVC. She adored all of her grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting Edith's family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
