Edith "Edie" Pearson, 84 of Pekin passed away at 5:17 pm, Thursday, December 17, 2020 at UnityPoint Pekin Hospital. She was born to William C. & Margaret (Beck) Buysse in Peoria, IL on September 19, 1936. She married Carl Williams on June 5, 1954, she married Don Pearson on May 28, 1986. Don preceded her in death on July 4, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her husband Carl Williams, and one brother Robert Buysse. Edie is survived by; four sons, Michael (Tammy) Williams, Thomas (Heidi) Williams, Joseph (Debbie) Williams and David (Mary) Williams, all of Pekin; one daughter, Kathleen Beal of Pekin; one step-son, Daniel J. (Sharon) Pearson of Washington, IL; one step-daughter, Linda J. (Steve Shaff) Smith of Tarpon Springs, FL; eleven grandchildren, Cole (Jessica) Williams, Mallory (Brian) Towne, Jennifer (Ryan) Wrigley, Amanda Williams, Matt Hastings, Rhett(Arianna) Williams, Elizabeth Williams, Andy (Brittney) Williams, Jason Pearson, Stephen and Lindsey Shaff; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Buysse of Pekin and Phil Jenkins of Sandy Ridge, TN. Edie was a lifelong Catholic. She worked for Diocese of Peoria as the Executive Secretary to Archbishop John J. Myers and Bishop Daniel Jenky. Previous to that she worked for the Peoria Journal Star as a secretary in national advertising. She was a 1954 graduate of Academy of Our Lady High School. She was a former organist at St Josephs in Pekin, Holy Family in Peoria, St Thomas in Peoria Heights and St Marys Cathedral in Peoria. She was also a lector and Extraordinary Minister for many years. Edie enjoyed boating and the theater. It brought much joy to her heart for her relationships with the many Priests that she knew through their seminary and ordinations over the years. Her greatest love and treasure was her family, and the many family gatherings they had. Edie was a member of St Joseph Church in Pekin where her Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 with Father Michael Andrejek as celebrant, and Deacon Mark Wilder as eulogist. There will be a visitation before the Mass also at the church from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Social distancing and mask guidelines will be followed. Burial will immediately follow at St Joseph Cemetery in Pekin.
