Earl H. Vogel

Earl H. Vogel, 97, of Pekin passed away at 7:35 AM Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Timbercreek Rehab & Health Center in Pekin. Earl was born on August 19, 1915 in Groveland Township, Tazewell County, Illinois to George and Elizabeth Freidinger Vogel. He married Hazel L. Habberfield on June 6, 1941 in Pekin, IL. She passed away on November 29, 2005. Also preceding in death is his parents, four brothers and three sisters. Surviving is: one daughter, Sibyl (Dave) Mulvey of Pekin; two grandchildren, Aaron Mulvey of Pekin and Mary Beth Hales of Peoria Heights, IL. Earl farmed in Groveland Township retiring in 1960. He then worked as a custodian at PCHS West Campus for 18 years and then worked for the Pekin Park District mowing at Parkview Golf Course for 27 years. Earl was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin where he attended since 1922. He was also a member of the Churchmen's Brotherhood, Knights Sunday School Class and served as treasurer of Kraft Cemetery for over 40 Years. Funeral services will at 10:30 AM Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at St. Paul United Church of Christ with Rev. Dwight Borden officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Henderson Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
