Dorthea M. Roberts

Dorthea M. Roberts, 88, of 2220 State St. Pekin, IL passed away at 8:35 am Wednesday December 5, 2007 at Timber Creek Living & Rehab Center Pekin. Dorthea was born September 12, 1919 in Pekin to Francis & Susan J. Fischer Smith. She married George Martin on December 7, 1938 in Pekin. He passed away in 1975. She later married Joseph Vincent Roberts on Feb. 14, 1984 in Tarpon Springs, FL. He passed away on June 9, 2003. Preceding in death are her parents,husbands, George and Joseph and one sister Jeannette Leonard. Surviving are; two sons, Larry (and Sharon) Martin of Hamilton, IL and Keith (and Shirley) Martin of Pekin; two daughters, Connie (and Larry) Dean and Sue (and Randy) Townsend both of Pekin; one step-daughter, Lynne Poulos of Dartmouth, MA; thirteen grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Dorthea was born and raised in Pekin. Shelived in Florida from 1973 - 2003. Dorthea was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pekin. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #79, Eagles Lodge Post # 3153 and Moose Lodge # 1429 all in New Port Richey, FL. Dorthea had been a register beautician and a water safety instructor. She loved to play bingo, cards, golf and swim.
