Dorse Crawford

Dorse Gene Crawford, 78, of Pekin, IL passed away at 11:40 AM Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Timber Creek Rehab and Health in Pekin. Gene was born on February 26, 1937 in Caraway, AR to McCurry and Ruby Elizabeth (House) Crawford. He married Judith K. Carpenter on October 27, 1979 in Peoria, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are: his wife, Judy of Pekin; three daughters, Reatha (Al) Teuerle of Pekin, Angie (Rex) Black of West Haven, UT and Jeanie (Les) Avery of Pekin; grandchildren, Cody (Rananda) Teuerle and Randi Teuerle both of Pekin, great grandchildren, Vance and Cheyenne Teuerle of Pekin: nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Gene was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He then worked at Caterpillar for thirty years retiring in 1992. After retirement he couldn't sit still so he went to work at Nyman's Grocery Store in Creve Coeur. After that he started his own small engine repair shop specializing in lawn mower repair. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde in Pekin with Pastor David Lynn officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria with military honors provided by the United States Army.
