Dorothy E. Taylor

Dorothy Eileen "Dot" Taylor, 86 of Pekin, passed away at 7:02 am Thursday, September 21, 2017 at her home after a short illness. She was born November 18, 1930 in Pekin to Gilbert and Lula (Arnett) Mann. She married Calvin E. "Cal" Taylor on June 26, 1965 in Pekin. He survives. Dot is also survived by; nieces, Terri (Rob) Vaupel of Pekin, Lori Smith of Litchfield, Nancy (Craig) Hurley of Heber Springs, AR, nephews; Jim Pryor of Pekin and John (Tammy) Pryor of Independence, MO. one sister-in-law, Lila Leesman of Lincoln, IL; niece Cheryl (Dan) Lemme of Lincoln, IL; nine great nieces and nephews; four great-great nieces and nephews; and family pet Kali Kay. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Marcia L "Mann" Pryor; and brother-in-law, Wilbur Leesman of Lincoln, IL Dot attended Pekin Schools and graduated high school in 1948. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin and worked at Pekin Insurance, retiring after 43 1/2 years of service. Graveside Services will be held in the Chapel at Glendale Memorial Gardens at 12:30 pm on Monday, September 25, 2017. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin, IL.
