Dorothy D. Johnson

Dorothy D. Johnson, 82, of 230 Court St. Apt. 207 Pekin passed away at 4:40 pm on Monday, March 3, 2008 at Pekin Hospital. Dorothy was born February 25, 1926 in Detroit, MI to Onie and Lavina Mashinske Sawyer. She married Leo H. Johnson on October 20, 1946 in Detroit, MI. He died on October 14, 1989. Preceding in death are her parents and two half sisters, Clara and Ruth. Surviving are; four sons, Gary L. (and Deborah) Johnson, Dan D. (and Vicki) Johnson, Neal C. (and Lynne) Johnson and Bill J. (and April) Johnson all of Pekin; twelve grandchildren, Bryan, Dawn, Sarah, John, Christopher, Heather, Misty, Jeremy, Danielle and Kathleen Johnson, Amy Bowling and Nicole Chesher; ten great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. Dorothy was member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Pekin Chapter #673 Woman of the Moose. Dorothy was a secretary for many years for Equitable Life Insurance Company in Peoria. She enjoyed playing bingo and will be missed by her many friends. She was a caring mother and homemaker.
