Dorla D. Talbott, 91, formerly from Green Valley, IL passed on at 4:35 AM Friday, June 16, 2023 at Reflections Memory Care in Morton, IL where she has been residing since September of 2019. Dorla was born on October 11, 1931 in Pekin to Colby R. and Charlotte (Hayes) Konisek. She married Earl L. Talbott on August 19, 1951 in Manito. He passed on September 21, 2019. She was also preceded in death by one son, Douglas Earl Talbott and one daughter, Amy Kay Kamp. She is survived by one daughter, Diane V. (Russell) DeLong of Green Valley, one son-in-law, Scott Kamp of Mapleton, IL.; three grandchildren, Clint (Danielle) DeLong, Morton. Megan (Evan) Fleming, Morton, and Mary Kiertanis (Brad Gill), Creve Coeur. And eleven great-grandchildren; Ian, Tyler, Corbin, Ryley, Ethan. Emily, Alexander, Logan. Mackenzie, Isaiah, and Brooke. One sister, Kay McCallam of Davenport, IA Dorla's number one priority was to God and her faith, her husband and helping with the farm and Christmas trees, she's made many grave blankets and wreaths for the Christmas seasons, also her children, which she loved all whole heartedly, her parents, her sister, nieces and nephews, In-laws, relatives and friends. She was always making sure everyone was happy and cared for. If anyone was in need, she was right there to help. God gave her the passion in 1971 to plant the seeds for the future Valley Chapel church, getting loving friends to join in for amazing years of watching the church family grow. She loved planting flowers, was an artist, had beautiful artistic handwriting, loved oil painting, crocheting, needlepoint and cross stitching. Known best for her ceramic making and beautiful painting of them. She usually gave her many hours of work, away as gifts. Dorla worked as a phone operator when she graduated from Pekin High in 1949. She volunteered for many services in the community helping others. rarely saying no to anyone. Often volunteering at Pekin Hospital surgical floor to support the waiting family members. She worked at Stauffer's Toning and Herbs in Pekin for five years. She was the Chapter Leader for The Compassionate Friends #1525 from 1986 to December 1999. She and two other Bereaved neighbors got the National non-profit organization up and going for this area of Illinois, helping hundreds of bereaved families that's lost children. The family will be having a private Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Henderson's Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito.
