Donna M. Lee

Donna M. Lee, 81, of Pekin, IL passed away at 8:15 AM Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Donna was born on March 30, 1936 in Pekin to Ross and Ann (Bailey) Hodgson. She married her high school sweetheart Donald Lee on April 15, 1956 in Pekin. He passed away on November 17, 1988. Her parents also preceded her in death. Surviving are: one daughter, Lori (Steve) Jarvill of Pekin and one son, Phillip (Brenda) Lee of Pekin; five grandchildren, Drae (Melissa) Jarvill of Pekin and Dara (Tyler) Funk of Irmo, South Carolina, Dalani, Marissa and Bailey Lee of Pekin, and four great grandchildren, Lexi, Lauren and Kami Jarvill and Anders Funk; one brother, Terry (Clarinda) Hodgson of Pekin. Donna was a graduate of Pekin High School, attended Illinois State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Sangamon State University. Donna was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ.She loved cooking and baking and planning holidays with family.She also enjoyed flower gardening, shopping and watching old movies.She was known by her family and friends for her kindness, generosity and continuous smile.She will be greatly missed. Donna was a court reporter at the Tazewell County Courthouse for over fifty years retiring in November 2015. She continued to take shorthand by hand until the end of her career. A visitation celebrating Donna's life will be from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM Friday, April 21, 2017 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin. Inurnment will be at a later date in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
