Donald G. Vandyke

Donald G. Van Dyke, 67, of Pekin passed away at 10:40 am Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Donnie was born February 28, 1940 in Quincy, IL to Donald P. and Aloise O'Donnell Van Dyke. He married Charlotte J. Cookson on October 2, 1963 in Quincy. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are: his wife, Charlotte of Pekin; three sons, Todd (and Melissa) of St. Louis, MO, David K. (and Holly) of Pekin and Jeff of Murfreesboro, TN; four grandchildren, Conor, Matthew, Peyton and Laurel; one brother, Thomas L. of Quincy, IL; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Cookson of Whitefish Bay, WI. Donnie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Donnie was a Marketing Manager for Caterpillar retiring in March 2007 after 30 years of service. Donnie's family was very important to him.He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.He enjoyed gardening and was passionate about his yard.
