Donald R. Stewart

Donald R. Stewart, 59, of Marquette Heights, IL passed away at 5:45 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in the emergency room at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria. Don was born November 2, 1957 in Peoria to Roy and Harlene (Niles) Stewart. He married Dalene Bruns on October 21, 1978 in Peoria. Preceding in death is his mother, Harlene Stewart. Surviving are: his wife, Dalene of Marquette Heights; two daughters, Jennifer Rachell of Pekin and Katherine (Matt Moton) Stewart of Peoria; three grandchildren, Charles Rachell, Dominick and Juliet Stewart; his father, Roy Stewart of Morton, IL and one brother, Douglas Stewart of Morton, IL. Don graduated from Peoria Heights High School where he played football. He attended Illinois Central College. He was a lathe operator at Illinois Machine & Tool for twelve years retiring in 2012. Don was a self-taught computer repair wizard and loved playing computer games. He enjoyed metal detecting, fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Graveside services with inurnment will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Swan Lake Memory Gardens. There will be no visitation. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with medical expenses.
