Donald F. Pearson

Donald F. Pearson, 86, of Green Valley, IL formerly of Spring Bay, IL passed away at 2:47 AM Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Autumn Accolade. Don was born October 7, 1930 in Bradford, IL to Homer C. and Lena Margaret (Nichols) Pearson. He married Edith Buysse on May 28, 1986 in Peoria, IL. Preceding in death are his parents and three brothers, William, Gerald and James Pearson, one daughter, Bell Fraley, and grandson, Dan Fraley. Surviving are: his wife, Edie of Green Valley, IL; five sons, Daniel J. (Sharon) Pearson of Washington, IL, Michael J. (Tammy) Williams, Thomas A. (Heidi) Williams, Joseph (Debra) Williams and David (Mary) Williams all of Pekin; two daughters, Linda J. (Steve Shaff) Smith of Tarpon Springs, FL and Kathleen Beal of Pekin; one son-in-law, James D. Fraley; thirteen grandchildren, Cole (Jessica) Williams, Mallory (Brian) Towne, Jennifer (Ryan) Wrigley, Amanda Williams, Matt Williams, Rhett(Arianna Haines) Williams, Elizabeth Williams, Andy ( Brittney) Williams, Jason Pearson, Stephen and Lindsey Shaff, Larry (Cherie) Fraley, Twila Fraley, Tonya Lempesis, Mickey Whitsell and Tammy Dotson; six great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren. Don was a Korean War Veteran of the United States Army. He was employed at TP&W / Santa Fe Railroad for forty years retiring in 1989. He then worked as the maintenance man for The Cathedral of St. Mary for ten years. Don was a member of The Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Peoria and American Legion Post #1115 in Spring Bay. Some of the things that Don enjoyed most in life were, working on cars, going to his farm in Arkansas, boating and sitting on his porch swing talking to whoever went by. His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 8, 2017 at The Cathedral of St. Mary with Monsignor Steven P. Rohlfs officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM - 10:45 AM Saturday at The Cathedral. Burial with military honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Pekin.
