Donald M. "Don" Dehart, 90, of Pekin, IL, passed away at 5:51 AM Thursday, September 03, 2015 at Pekin Manor. Don was born on September 1, 1925 in Heavener, OK to Oscar and Ethel (Koch) Dehart. He married Joan Hesse on June 17, 1950 in Pekin, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Roy Dean Dehart, one infant brother and one sister, Grace McKay. Surviving are: his wife, Joan of Pekin; one daughter, Victoria (Jim) Taylor of Pekin; three grandchildren, Ryan (Nicole) Gleason of Bettendorf, IA, Casey (Mark) Rimkus of New Lenox, IL, step granddaughter, Regan (Troy) Mills of Charlotte, NC; five great grandchildren, Lachlan Gleason, Carys Gleason ,Knox Alan Rimkus, Easton Rimkus and Cash Rimkus. Don was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army. He was a self-employed watchmaker and still enjoyed repairing watches after he retired. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. He enjoyed gardening and mushroom hunting. Don was a lifetime member of the Pekin Elks Lodge #1271, Central Illinois Watchmakers Association and the William Schafer Post #44 American Legion. Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. with Rev. Robert DeBolt officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services on Wednesday. Inurnment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
