Don H. Campbell

Don H. Campbell, 89, of Pekin, IL passed away at 3:50 AM Friday, March 28, 2014 at Pekin Hospital. Don was born on March 1, 1925 in Grand River, IA to Clarence M. and Audrey (Hite) Campbell. He married Betty J. Gibson on September 16, 1944 in Creston, IA. She passed away on June 26, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Surviving is: one son, Tim (Bonnie) Campbell of Peoria, IL; one daughter, Vicki (Sonny) Goodwin of Pekin, IL; four grandchildren, Danette (Randy) McCall of Washington, IL, James Campbell of Washington, IL, Shay (Becky) Brown of Lawrence, KS and Jennifer Campbell of Peoria, IL; six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; one brother, Kenneth (Georgia) Campbell of Lorimor, IA. Don was Vice president of Sales and Marketing for Fox Brady Manufacturing of Appleton, WI for twenty years retiring in 1987. After moving to Pekin he worked as a realtor for Halstead and Wolf Century Twenty-one. Don was a very active member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Pekin. He was a former board member of the Christian Civic Outreach. He was an avid woodworker, golfer and gardener. Cremation has been accorded. There will be no local services. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Lorimor Cemetery in Lorimor, IA.Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
