Dick Montgomery

Dick L. Montgomery, 59 of Pekin, passed away peacefully at 11:45 AM, Sunday, June 18, 2017 at his home. He was born on June 10, 1958 to Jack L. & Martha (Ganson) Montgomery in Pekin. He married Rowena (Zamora) Montgomery November 2, 2013 in Groveland. She survives. He was preceded in death by his mother and one daughter, Danielle Smith. He is survived by; his wife Rowena; his father, Jack; three sons, Ryan Montgomery of Chicago, Derek (Emily) Montgomery of DeKalb, IL. and Alex Montgomery of Pekin; one daughter, Jessie-Rae Montgomery of Pekin; two step sons, Ryan Smith of Chillicothe, and Kevin Meyer of Abilene, TX; two brothers, Rick (Joyce) Montgomery of Hawthorn Woods, IL. and Rex (Deborah) Montgomery of Springhill, FL.; and six grandchildren, Hannah Montgomery, Cole Montgomery, Isaac Montgomery, Levi Hansard, Blake Smith, and Scarlett Smith. Dick owned Room by Room Painting in Pekin where he was a self-employed painting contractor. He was a people person who truly never met a stranger. Dick was also a proficient photographer. He enjoyed singing Karaoke at Pottsies Place, and enjoyed collecting antiques, but Dick's greatest passion was his family. He enjoyed his grandchildren as much as they enjoyed him. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 1:30 PM at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin with Pastor Steven Rowell, Sr. officiating. A visitation will be held immediately prior from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM Saturday. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral. Memorials may be made in Dick's name to the American Cancer Society.
