Delores J. Steinborn

Delores J. Steinborn, 80, of Pekin passed away at 2:30 pm, Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Delores was born June 26, 1932 in Springlake Township Tazewell County, Illinois to Homer and Elizabeth (Meisinger)Claton.She married Robert Brown July 2, 1952 he died June 24, 1953.She married Bransfore 'Brad' Steinborn on July 11, 1954. She is survived by her husband, Brad; two sons, David (LaVon) Steinborn of Pekin, Mike (Kim) Steinborn of Manito; one daughter Cheryl Abel of Peoria; seven grandchildren, Shane Abel, Steven Steinborn, Jennifer (Christopher) Houston, Ross Steinborn, Chad Steinborn, Macey Steinborn, Jordan (Michael) Matthews; eight great grandchildren, Olivia Clark, Jennelle,Anja and Brynlei Muller, Eagen and Allison Houston and Robert and Kayla Abel. She was preceded in death by her parents;two sisters, Fern Schumm and Marjorie Rassi; two brothers, Ervin and Kenneth Claton. She worked as a secretary for Caterpillar from 1953-1956 and later worked for the City of Pekin as a crossing guard for twelve years.She was a member of First Christian Church in Pekin. She enjoyed crafts, plaster crafts, crocheting afghans and making hats and loved to cook and watch the Food Network Channel.Delores loved her grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, November 3, 2012 at First Christian Church withReverend Michael Robertsofficiating.Visitation will be Friday, November 2, 2012 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at Henderson Funeral Home with additional visitation one hour prior to service at the church.Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
