Delores "Dee" Yvonne Galvin

Delores 'Dee' Yvonne Galvin, 77, of New Port Richey, FL formerly of Pekin, IL, passed away at 7:53 PM on Monday, April 8, 2013 at North Bay Hospital in New Port Richey. Dee was born on July 17, 1935 in Lacon, IL to Merle and Velma Kenyon. She married Joseph 'Buddy' Galvin on January 9, 1960. He preceded her in death on October 31, 1978. Surviving is; one son, Mark (Mary) Galvin of Pekin; three daughters, Angie (Greg) Sturm of Normal, IL, Lisa (Spiro) Venieris of Tarpon Springs, FL and Jodee Galvin of Tampa, FL; six grandchildren, Jeremy and Bryce Galvin, Kiley and Lindsey Sturm, and Kristina and TJ Venieris; one great grandchild Kendall Tisdale Jr. Dee graduated from Mid-County Senior High School in Marshall County, IL in 1953. She was formerly employed by Caterpillar, Inc., The Chateau on the Lake and Cranwill's Drive-In. Dee was a member of Holiday United Church of Christ. She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a diehard Cub fan. Her memorial service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin, IL 61554. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial of her cremated remains will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Pekin. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Pekin, which she was a previous member or TAPS Animal Shelter of Pekin.
