Delbert "Corky" Nizzia

Delbert 'Corky' Nizzia, 63, of Max ND (formerly of Pekin, IL) passed away at 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday,March 15, 2011 at his home, surrounded by loving family members. Delbert was born on December 7, 1947 in Peoria, IL to Delbert and Edweidyne (Kaufmann) Nizzia. Delbert was preceded in death by his father. Delbert 'Corky' is survived by his mother of Pekin; daughter, Trudy Osborne of Max, ND; sister, Marilyn (Harry) Vanwagoner of Rupert, ID;half sister, Joyce Becker of Denver, CO; three brothers, Jeff, Anthony, and Joe (Jill) Nizzia, all of Pekin; Special Aunt & Uncle Robert and Geneva Shelton of Bozeman, MT, Aunt Jotana Gardner of Livingston, MT and Aunt Darlene Honinger of Palatine, IL; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation rites have been accorded. A veteran of the United States Army, Delbert served in Vietnam from January 1968 to August 1969. Delbert was an electrician by trade and a member of IBEW Local 34 in Peoria, IL.Hewas also a member of Pekin Eagles #1869.He was an avid hunter and fisherman, but most of all, Delbert loved children. Graveside services will be at the War Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Pekin, IL on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., with military honors being accorded by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.Pastor Tony Darr will officiate.
