Delbert Courtright

Delbert Lester Courtright, 79 of Green Valley, passed away at 11:22 pm, Thursday, August 1, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Delbert was born December 31, 1933 in Pekin to Edgar 'Wayne' and Emma (Vogel) Courtright.He married Judith Gail Arnett on August 24, 1957 in Pekin.She died December 16, 1999.He later married Patsy Wiseman on February 18, 2004.She survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Denise (Steve) Tumilty of Pekin, Cathie Oseland of East Peoria, Theresa (Frank) Goss of Pekin, Deanna Gibbs of Manito, Leslie Kash of Laura; one son, Kendall (Kimberly) Courtright of Geneseo; one brother Paul (Marcia) Courtright of Washington; eleven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren; two step daughters, Lynnette Ehrettand Michelle Stranz both of Pekin. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Leroy and sister, Velma. He worked for Keystone Steel and Wire in Bartonville for 40 years retiring in 1996.He first owned Courtright Deep Rock Gas Station on Route 29 south of Pekin with his brother Paul from 1969 to 1971 and then later he and his first wife, Judy owned and operated the same Courtright Service Station from 1978 to 1989. He was a member of Verlin M. Showalter Masonic Lodge # 1172 A.F. & A.M. Bartonville, IL. and Fraternal Order of Eagles Pekin Lodge. He loved motorcycles, old cars and trucks, fixing anything that was broke, and the last ten years, camping and Bluegrass music.Crossword puzzles were easy to him.Delbert was a great man who loved his family and will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm Monday, August 5, at the funeral home with Masonic Rites to be held at 7:00 pm. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
