David Eugene Speener

David Eugene Speener, 67 of Pekin passed away at 1:10 pm, Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at UnityPoint Health Pekin Hospital. He was born to James A. & Annie (Pentecost) Speener Jr.in Peoria, IL on Feb 3, 1956. David was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, James A. Speener III. He is survived by; one son, Scott Speener; one brother, Frank (Tana) Speener of Peoria; three sisters, Rosalee Walkup of Akron, OH, Patricia Lynn Whitman of North Carolina, and Etwinda Taylor of Florida; very special cousins, Donald & Sarah Barnes and family; many beloved nieces and nephews; and extended family, Sowers & Cagles. David worked as a truck driver. He enjoyed collecting coins, rooted for the St Louis Cardinals, and liked music very much, especially Country Music, he liked to write his own songs and sing them. Per his request, no services will be held and cremation has been accorded.
