David P. Prim, 52, a loving husband, father and son went to be with the Lord on November 14th, 2022 while in Grinnell, IA. He was born on June 10th, 1970 in Webb City, MO to Glen Prim and Mary White. In 1988, he enlisted in the US Army where he served 4 years in the Army Core of Engineers Affiliation in 2018 he attained an Associates Degree in Mass Communication from Illinois Central College. David led a podcast "Worlds Leading Mad Scientist" that he had continued for 13 years. During those years, he was a musician playing multiple instruments while in different bands. He coached a semi-pro football team (Crusaders - Indianapolis) that won a championship and he then coached a NFL Play 60 Youth Football team, with his youngest son, Seth being a player of the team. David was very proud of his American Native heritage and always loved to be apart of Indian Tribal tributes over the years, to then attend the Gathering of Nations in New Mexico, he was apart of the drum circle with his Native American Church near home in Peoria. Most importantly, David proved himself to be a wonderful and dedicated father, brother and son. He was the eldest of all his siblings and he always put in the extra effort for his family, he never stopped loving everyone with all of his heart. A father like you is what everyone needs, full of smiles and laughter, always doing great deeds. A person like you is rare, one that's so generous, smart and kind. David is preceded in death by his son, Jesse Prim; brother, George William "Billy" Melzer III and his former wife Susan Flynn (mother to Brodie and Tyler). David is survived by his wife, Michelle Prim; three sons, Brodie Prim, Tyler Prim and Seth Prim; mother, Mary White and father, Glen Prim; one brother, Jamie Prim and two sisters, Shannon Melzer and Shannon Kirby. Funeral services will be held at Henderson Funeral Home and Crematory in Pekin, IL on Tuesday, November 22nd at 7PM for his friends and family. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM before the service. Cremation will be accorded following the services.
