She survives, along with his parents; son, Myles David (Kelsey Mulder) Nystrom of Rushville, IL; daughter, Aleah Rose Nystrom of Havana, IL; two stepdaughters, Samantha (John Sutton) Kendrick and Autumn Kendrick of Pekin, IL; one granddaughter, Hennessy Bass of Pekin, IL; identical twin brother, Daniel (Cari) Nystrom of Pekin, IL; sister, Yvonne (Dave) Allen of Wheatfield, IN; and three brothers, Ryan Nystrom of Willow Springs, IL, Justin Nystrom of Chicago Heights, IL, and Matthew Wessoly of Valparaiso, IN. He is also survived by his mothers-in-law, Pam Wickert of Ipava, IL, and Bernadette Mayall of Washington, MO; his niece Grace, who was like a daughter, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, friends, and Union Brothers.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-laws, Kevin Mayall and Ed Wickert; and a cousin, Frank Postelmans.

Dave graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1987, then worked in concrete and laborer jobs until being accepted into the IBEW Local 34 in 1998. He was a journeyman electrician for IBEW for nearly 30 years and was excited to be nearing retirement to travel and enjoy the small farm he shared with his wife. Extremely dedicated to his career, he worked for various locals and nuclear power plants, never shying away from complicated or dangerous jobsin fact, he thrived on them. He last worked for Oberlander Electric on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, where he had also begun his career in 1998. When not at work, Dave was always building something, a testament to his tireless work ethic. He loved woodworking and could create anything he set his mind to.

Dave was highly athletic from a young age. He and his twin, Dan, were top wrestlers in school, played soccer, and enjoyed baseball. He coached his sons baseball team and later became a registered scuba diver and trained in Jiu-Jitsu, Muay-thi, and MMA as an adult. He woke early each day to work out before heading to his job, known for his exceptional fitness and ambition. His strength was remarkable, often described as "strong as an ox." Dave was truly one of a kindfull of passion, energy, and hard work, with a surprisingly soft and sweet side for a guy who lived life full throttle. A true original, even as an identical twin.

Dave had a special way of making his children and granddaughter feel loved. He was Hennys Papa and Leles daddy forever and was immensely proud of his son, Myles, and his many accomplishments. His family was his life, the reason he worked so hard. He lived fully, cherishing quality time with his loved ones, and told his wife daily how much he loved her. His union brotherhood and faith in God were central to his life. Always smiling, Dave will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
