David Michels

David J. Michels, 63, of Pekin, IL passed away at 10:30 AM Sunday, February 17, 2019 at his home. David was born on March 19, 1955 in Granite City, IL to John and Margaret (Lewis) Michels. He married Anita J. Wilkes on December 5, 1995 in Peoria, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mildred Burgess. Surviving are: his wife, Anita of Pekin; two sons, Justin (Talena) Michels of Pekin and Chad (Katie) Michels of Denver, CO; four grandchildren, Silas, Sawyer, Hendrix and Vivienne Michels; one sister, Susan Michels of Niles, IL. David worked in logistics at Caterpillar Inc. for 35 years retiring on January 1, 2009. He was a member of the Frank N. Nicol Lodge #1170 A.F. & A.M. in Creve Coeur and enjoyed fishing. He loved being around his grandchildren. A visitation will be from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin. Cremation will be accorded after the visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Illinois Cancer Care.
