David A. Dains

David A. Dains Sr., 77, of Pekin passed away at 9:32 AM Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the home of his daughter. David was born on December 23, 1934 in Mt. Pulaski, IL to Clarence A. and Dorothy A. (Holmes) Dains.He married Karin Nelson in 1956. She died January 30, 1968. He then married Judy Meskiman on August 15, 1980. She survives of Pekin. Proceeding in death were: his parents, one daughter, Terri Lynn Ziegler, two brothers, Clarence A. Dains and Thomas E. Dains, two sisters, Dorothy A. Davis and Frances E. Dains. Surviving are; two sons, David (Mindy) Dains of Galesburg, IL and William N. Ward of South Pekin, IL; three daughters, Franki (Richard) Curto of Pekin, Nadine (David) Salem of Pekin and Sarah A. (Harry Sies Jr.) Dains of Pekin; three step daughters, Shannon Ward of Fredericksburg, VA, Debbie Haynes of Pekin and Vickie Frost of Armington, IL; fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two sisters, Estella Miester of Springfield, IL and Susan Hylton of Mt. Pulaski, IL. David was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked as a teamster for Seneca and was a member of Teamster Local #627 and its retirees club. He also was a member of the Eagles and was a 25 year member of Empire Masonic Lodge #126 A.F.&A.M., Pekin, Illinois. There will be no services or visitation. Private burial will be at a later date in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Cremation will be accorded. Henderson Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
