Darrell E. Spiesz

Darrell E. Spiesz 78, of Pekin passed away at 4:54 am Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Darrell was born November 10, 1936 in Pekin to Irwin and Vera (Cook) Spiesz.He married Darlene Martin in 1958. He is survived by his wife, Darlene; one daughter, Kelly (Brad) Volk of Pekin; three grandchildren, Dana Spiesz, Heather Volk and Daryl Spiesz Jr.; one brother, Edwin (Sally)Spiesz of Ohio; one sister Patricia (Kenneth) Crawford of Pekin. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Daryl Spiesz Sr. and one brother Irwin Spiesz.Darrell retired as an assembler with Caterpillar after 30 years of service. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, cars, baseball, and basketball. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 am Friday, March 13, 2015 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin. Graveside services will be at 11:30 am at Lakeside Cemetery with his nephew, Rev. Mike Crawford officiating. Memorials may be directed to the family to help with final expenses.
