Darlene E. Mills

Darlene Mills, 73, of Pekin, IL passed away at 12:50 AM Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Reflections Memory Care in Pekin. She was born on February 3, 1949 in Pennington Gap, VA to W. Doyle and Pauline (Clark) Lundy. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Larry and Olin Lundy; two sisters, Anna Ruth Lundy and Kathryn Reynolds; and one niece Clara Darlene Smallwood. She is survived by: two sons, Matthew Mills and Joseph (Audrey) Mills both of Pekin; three grandchildren, Jessica (Curtis) Popejoy, Tatum Mills, Sheila Mills; three great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Rodriquez, Jaeleigh Mills and Sienna Popejoy; one sister, Diane (Jerome) Smallwood of Pekin; two brothers, Stanley (Kathy) Lundy and Roland (Joan) Lundy both of Pekin. Darlene attended Riverside Community Church. She was a secretary for IDOT and DCFS for over twenty years retiring in 2011. She enjoyed spending her time volunteering for the American Red Cross. She loved to go shopping and on long walks with her dog, Lucky. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, September 26, 2022 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be one hour prior from 10:00 AM -11:00 AM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research hospital, American Diabetes Association or American Parkinson Disease Association.
