Darhl Gene Brown

Darhl G. Brown, 72, of Groveland, IL passed away at 4:30 AM Monday, September 17, 2018 at his home with his family by his side. Darhl was born on April 16, 1946 in Canton, IL to Clarence and Virginia (Swartzbaugh) Brown. He married Susan J. Brown on July 1, 1977 in Las Vegas, NV. She passed away on September 12, 2018. Also preceding in death are his parents. Surviving are: one son, Cory (Martha) Brown of Peoria, IL; two grandchildren; one brother, Eddie (Christine) Brown of Lewistown, IL and one sister, Connie Webb of Lewistown, IL. Darhl was a 1969 graduate of Illinois State University and received his Master's degree in 1972. He was a teacher at Pekin Community High School for 38 years retiring in 2002. He was also a home builder / contractor. He was a member and past president of the ISU Industrial Arts Club, board member and officer of River Valley Sportsman Club, Life Sponsor of Ducks Unlimited, chairman of Pekin DU Chapter for many years and member of Empire Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting trap. Visitation for Darhl and Sue will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Friday, September 21, 2018 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin. Masonic services will be held at 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Graveside services for Darhl and Sue will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Swan Lake Memory Gardens with Rev.
